I am not impressed by Candice’s latest selection. However, I must say I long thought Joan Smalls is dating him. Candice revealed her relationship today but I am impressed how long she was able to hide it.
A question for the people here. Do you think this guy might be bothered by Candice’s closeness with Bravin. I know Bravin is gay and a work colleague but still there has to be some uneasiness seeing Candice and Bravin’s closeness.
This has to be the biggest downgrade Candice has done dating-wise though it is also understandable as she is not at the peak of her career or age-wise (given society’s prejudices against women). She way, way out-earns him even at this moment in her career, is way, way better-looking than him, and it is not even a comparison when it comes to social status and fame. Also Candice is so close with Bravin that it does not seem to me that Shaffer’s company alone keeps her happy or you know that when a woman is really in love, she wants to spend as much time with her partner as possible. I could be wrong but Candice is based in Miami and Shaffer seems to be based in NY so it also seems like a long-distance relationship at the moment though he probably flies to Miami quite often. He also seems like he is a social climber, poser, and insecure, given his social media posts with an emphasis on pictures with famous people. In my intuition, the chemistry and the spark are seriously missing and this relationship seems to indicate sense of desperation on Candice’s part.
The only positive for him is that this relationship has lasted more than a year, Candice has gone public with it, and her friends such as Joan seem fine with it. Moreover, Candice is more likely to want to settle down now so let’s see where it goes. Given his social media posts, I have a hard time imagining him being close to Candice’s sons, being a proper father figure, and getting along well with the sons though he can always pretend to in front of Candice. So I don’t know if Candice has introduced him to his kids yet or why does she think (if she thinks) that he is worth introducing to her kids.
